Geheimnis der Weihnacht3Since they were invented in the 1800s, Advent calendars have been a popular way to get through the wait for Christmas. There are Advent calendars that contain all sorts of things including pictures, toys, cosmetics, and tea. Sweets are one of the most popular things for the calendars to hold, and this especially applies to chocolate.

The following chocolate Advent calendars are suited to numerous types of people. Whether you like a lot of different chocolates or a similar one every day, there’s probably a calendar here that you’ll like. These calendars also come from a variety of favourite chocolate companies, including Cadbury, Lindt, Ferrero, Hershey’s, and Reese’s. So here they are:

Ferrero Collection Advent Calendar

Besides being filled with chocolate treats, the Ferrero Collection Advent Calendar can be a festive addition to the Christmas decor. This is an entire box which is covered with an image of a snowy street scene with passers-by enjoying their surroundings, which includes a prominent Christmas tree with a red garland.

Ferrero Rocher akThe chocolates themselves come in a variety of dark chocolate and milk chocolate with different fillings. The Rondnoir chocolates feature a round wafer which is dipped in dark chocolate and filled with creamy chocolate.

There are also the famous Ferrero Rocher pralines which also consist of a round wafer, but this time the filling is a whole hazelnut with hazelnut chocolate filling. The coating of a Ferrero Rocher is milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts. Along with these two, this Advent calendar also includes Raffaello sweets, which is a white confection made of almonds and coconuts.

If you’re looking for an Advent calendar which allows you to eat different types of pralines in the countdown to Christmas, the Ferrero Collection might be well worth considering.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Chunks Advent Calendar

Based on one of Britain’s most popular chocolate bars, the Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Chunks Advent Calendar offers the chance to observe each day of Advent with a piece of Dairy Milk. This might be a good choice if you like variety, as along with the plain Dairy Milk chunks, there are also pieces filled with caramel as well as pieces with raisins and chopped nuts.

Cadbury 3D Advent Calendar

If you want even more types of Cadbury’s chocolate than is in the Dairy Milk calendar, the Cadbury 3D Advent Calendar can offer it. Along with several pieces of Dairy Milk, this calendar also has treat sized bars of Fudge, Curly Wurly, and Chomp. In addition, there’s Freddo as well as Dairy Milk buttons. A few Christmas stickers are also thrown in.

Cadbury Heroes Christmas Advent-ure Calendar

Another Advent calendar from Cadbury is the Cadbury Heroes Christmas Advent-ure Calendar. This one offers an even wider assortment of chocolate than the previous two. Each day of Advent is celebrated with treat-sized versions of Whispa, Fudge, Cadbury’s Eclairs, Twirl, Caramel, Dairy Milk, or Creme Egg Twisted.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups 2021 Advent Calendar

The Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups 2021 Advent Calendar might be a good choice for fans of chocolate and peanut butter. Each day of Advent is celebrated with a miniature peanut butter cup that has either a milk chocolate or a white chocolate coating.

Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme Advent Calendar

This one is especially suited to lovers of white chocolate. The Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme Advent Calendar features minature versions of Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme bar. These type of chocolate bars are made of white chocolate with pieces of dark chocolate biscuits scattered in. The bits of biscuit are similar to the chocolate parts of an Oreo.

Lindt Teddy Bear Advent Calendar 2021

The Lindt Teddy Bear Advent Calendar 2021 might be a good calendar for children this Advent. Kids of all ages can enjoy pieces of hollow Swiss chocolate shaped like small teddy bears and reindeer. The collection also includes some of Lindt’s milk and white chocolate snowdrops, which consist of milk chocolate shells with a white chocolate filling. There are also a few mini truffles in the mix. After all of these, Christmas Eve is commemorated with a full-size milk chocolate teddy bear.

Baileys Chocolate Truffles Advent Calendar

If you’re looking for chocolate with a bit of alcohol, the Baileys Chocolate Truffles Advent Calendar offers truffles with Irish Cream in the centres. The assortment includes their heart-shaped truffles wrapped in gold foil. There are also salted caramel truffles with a hint of Irish Creme and a milk chocolate coating. In addition, there are twist wrap truffles with milk chocolate shell and a liqueur filling.

Which one of these Advent calendars would you choose?

I was first introduced to advent calendars when I was 12 years old (1982) and thought they were cool.  Now at 51 years of age, I still think they’re cool.  Because it’s just hubby and I (no kids) the Baileys one is most appealing.  I didn’t realize there’d be these kinds, but am glad there is.  Thank you for sharing!  Now it’s time to order one.

I am definitely a chocolate lover, and the idea of Chocolate Advent Calendar has fascinated me since I was a child, having the patience to count the days down with. Now, as an adult, I enjoy the same pleasure, and from your recommendations from the article, I definitely prefer the Baileys Chocolate Truffles Advent Calendar and Hershey’s Cookies’n ‘Creme Advent Calendar.

Thank you for bringing back sweet memories. Keep up the good work for all chocolate lovers. 😋

Ahhh…the favorite of every child.  The advent calendar helps to ease the pain of that 24 days wait!  I love the items you have listed here.  The quality and diversity of the contents would make these a hit with adults as well. The Cadbury Heroes Christmas Advent-ure Calendar.has a great mix of chocolates but I must confess that Hershey’s has always been my favorite brand.  I’ll take the Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme Advent Calendar.  Or the Baileys Chocolate Truffles Advent Calendar.  Maybe one of each?  Is that against the rules?

It is fortuitous that I landed on your article as I have just been looking into advent calendars for 2021 and what better way to celebrate the holiday than with chocolate when you open each day! I might need to get a couple in case I get too hungry with one of them. Haha!

I haven’t bought it last years for my kids, but looking on your post its great time to start. I especially like Lindt one. It looks really cute, and swiss chocolate is better then other candies. Looking forward to buy it soon, and Im sure my kids will love it.

Advent calendars are such a great way to count down the days to Christmas. My boys have flown the nest, but I can remember their excitement to open the advent calendar after dinner in the evening and get a little chocolate treat. I love Bailey, so it is indeed awesome to see that they do an advent calendar suitable for the more mature population.

I love Ferrero Rocher’s chocolates. And I know that my mom does too. Or better said, I learned to love chocolate with my mom. So, giving her a Ferrero Collection Advent Calendar would be a great idea. Thank you very much for giving us all these calendar options. But in my case, making up my mind was easy.

Advent calendars are so much fun! I have already received one as a gift this year that is a wine advent calendar. It’s going to be so hard to wait to start digging into it, but I think I’ll enjoy the wine advent calendar even more if I pair it with a chocolate advent calendar too! I’ve noticed that my favorites will usually sell out long before December, so I’m glad to have found this now so that I can take advantage of the best selection!

I have to admit that I have never been given or purchased an advent calendar in my life. Not because I haven’t wanted to but simply because I never got around to it. I found all the different types you had in your review both fascinating and mouth watering. This year will be different thanks to your article, I will order some of the children’s ones for my grandkids and I will purchase myself a ‘Bailey’s chocolate truffles’ variety.  I will get my wife the Cadbury 3D Calendar. Thank you for making me realise what I have been missing out on at Christmas. Jim

I’ve never been a chocolate enthusiast, but now I can see why I should be keener. The calendar concept thing looks interesting, though I wonder how they will survive my kids. They might decide to goggle up everything in one day! Or I might just choose to hide them so that I can do the countdown myself. Cadbury’s is the most identifiable brand where I live. But in recent times, others have also come into the market.

Who doesn’t like chocolate and these advent calendars are such a treat for adults and children. I have many fond memories of the Cadbury calendars and still favor them now. But the bailey’s alcohol heart shape truffles would have to be my pick from your list. They look so yummy but definitely too few. A lovely way to celebrate though the year.

I would choose “The Lindt Teddy Bear Advent Calendar 2021” because I believe my seven-year-old son will love it. One of the reasons I believe he will enjoy it is that he adores teddy bears so much. And I’m looking forward to sharing this Advent calendar with my son. Also, have at least three packages in the house.

    Thank you very much.

I love eating Chocolate. I feel eating chocolate can be healthy especially naturally made picked from traditional chefs? The texture of the chocolate and the warmth with the mixtures of the flavors melt in the mouth. Also, if anyone wants to make their chocolate with season peanuts from the farmers market is in April in California.  I found a vast flavor difference in eating seasonally to benefit our cooking. Thank you for sharing and time through your website. I AM CREATING CONTENT TO SELECT THE FRESHEST LOCAL INGREDIENTS FROM OUR CALIFORNIA FARMERS. Follow me through Facebook at MealPrepToday.

I’m German, so I grew up with advent calendars.  Problem is I really don’t like German chocolate as it is really too sweet for me.  I guess that is a good thing.  But, I like the nostalgia of having an advent calendar at Christmas.  Do you know of any that use dark chocolate instead of the regular sweet chocolate?  I do love chocolate too, only just dark LOL

I think that After Eight makes an Advent calendar. Although they do have a sweet mint filling. Hotel Chocolat makes a dark chocolate Advent calendar featuring 70% dark chocolate molded into Christmas shapes.

This was a great read! My family, ever since I was a little girl I remember on the last week of every November my Mom and Dad would give me and my brother a special advent calendar.

It was a tradition that stuck, as I now do it with my daughter. It was very interesting to read about UK Advent Calendar and the differences and similarities between my country(Canada) and the UK.

I enjoy chocolate as much as the next person. As a chef, I enjoy working with chocolate even more. I like the fact you can make commissions on each sale. I was wondering, do you create truffles and chocolates? I am wondering if there are more flavors in Reese’s calendar?

I don’t actually make chocolate, but I am very fond of it. The Reese’s calendar only contains chocolate with peanut butter fillings, but the coatings are either milk chocolate or white chocolate.

I love calendars; I always have one hanging on my fridge. I also like to offer calendars as a present to my colleagues at work:) That’s a fantastic idea, chocolate accompanied with a calendar. Just a question, please. Which of them would be best for a dear friend’s birthday present? She is a chocolate lover, so I think it would be a genius idea to offer her a calendar with delicious chocolate candies:)

Some of my favorite youtubers get Advent calendars and get a different candy each day. All the calendars you feature look great that choosing just one seems an impossible task! I love chocolate, so I’d be tempted to buy them all, but that’s not possible lol.

I think I’d go with the Ferrero calendar, as it’s one of my favorite chocolates.

I had no idea that there were Advent Calendars made from chocolate. My wife loves dark chocolate I may purchase a box

My first intro to Advent Calendars was when I studied German and the teacher used this to engage us in conversation in German. When we visited Germany it was almost educational to see actual Advent Calendars.

    Thanks for sharing.

Chocolates are my favourite snack. This whole idea of Advent calendars is new to me but as an ardent chocolate lover I am going to get on board. My favourites are the Ferrero and Cadbury milk chocolate collection. I love my chocolate dark and not very sweet so I can savour the crunch and the flavor. Of course Ferrero Rocher is my number one with that crispy inside. Thanks for the suggestion

OMG! I love chocolate and all of these calendars look amazing. I think the nicest one has to be Cadburys,,.. but then us Brits… do love our Cadburys chocolate. I think I might go for the 3D one… so I can keep it on my desk. Last year.. my hubby decided to open a few..eat the chocolates.. and then close the door again. He tried to tell me that the cat ate them!! Hmmmmmm…. so the 3D one is definitely a good choice for me. Nice article.. thanks

What a yummy website. chocolate is my kryptonite. And Cadbury lights the fuse if I can mix my metaphors. Do you remember the Cadbury flake bars and mars bars? They were 2 of my favorites. I am really pleased they are still making chocolate advent calendars. When I was a child I couldn’t wait until the next day ticked over so I could get my next chocolate fix. These things are so special for children that we tend to forget that in this era of political correctness. And now they have Ferrero advent calendars as well, I must keep an eye out for those.

    Thanks

I have never used an Advent calendar before.  I love chocolate though so this is definitely a motivator for me. It’s amazing how many different types there are.  I could see this being great to give as a gift even. The one that appeals to me the most is the Cadbury.  I remember Cadbury when I was a kid.

Usually, we buy a bottle of Baileys for Christmas but I didn’t know these chocolate Bailey’s advent calendars existed!

Well, it seems that chocolate advent calendars are no longer just for children! This one certainly won’t be!

    Thanks for a great article!

Cadbury is my absolute favorite chocolate type, so I will love most of these advent calendars. I never realized that they had been around as long as the 1800s. It would be a great idea if instead of chocolate one could get a small gift each day. You could have advent calendars for sewers for example and put things related to sewing into them. I think this is something that could really take off.

This is a cute idea.  Our family has always had a little daily ritual for opening the advent calendar.  Over the years, we have gone from little pictures in each window to tiny toys and then to hard candies.  The idea of chocolate in each window is really great.  I am going to get a calendar for each group of grandkids and carry on the tradition in a new way.  I am going to poll their parents to find what kind of candy the would want.
